Arehucas 2006 Ruby Port Cask Finish Rum (Boxed) – Limited Edition
This rum stands out for its oak and caramel aroma, which evolves to reveal nuances of redcurrants, cherries, plums, vanilla, and ripe fruit when allowed to breathe sufficiently. On the palate, one detects notes of smoke, wood, and coffee.
In the case of Ruby Port, its relatively short aging period in large casks preserves fruit intensity, aromatic freshness, and color vibrancy, resulting in expressive wines with fruity notes and delicate nuances of cherry, blackberry, and ripe plum. It is this signature profile that lends character and uniqueness to the final finishing stage of this new Arehucas rum.
The spirit used to craft this Arehucas Single Cask Ruby Finish 2006 comes from four carefully selected American oak casks, where the rum was aged for seventeen years in our historic cellars in Arucas before undergoing a twenty-month finishing period in Ruby Port casks.

AREHUCAS Distilleries, +130 Years of History:
On August 9, 1884, the San Pedro Factory was inaugurated in Arucas, Gran Canaria. Dedicated primarily to sugar production, and to a lesser extent to the production of sugarcane spirits and rum, it was the precursor to the current Arehucas Distilleries. The artisanal process for converting sugarcane juice into rum, combined with the use of modern machinery, led to the early success of "La Fábrica" (The Factory), as it was popularly known.
Suppliers to the Royal Household and Spanish Court: In 1885, the first harvest yielded 5,619,540 kg of sugarcane. The quality of its spirits earned it the Silver and Bronze Cup and the title of Suppliers to the Royal Household and Spanish Court, granted by Queen Regent Maria Cristina of Austria.
In 1892, just eight years after the distillery opened, the rum produced in Arucas was already highly regarded throughout the Canary Islands.
Today, Destilerías Arehucas is a century-old company with a long and distinguished history, one of the largest and oldest rum distilleries in Europe. Established as a prestigious brand based on the quality and history of its rums, it has become a benchmark for rum in Europe.
