Arehucas 2005 Sherry Cask Finish Oloroso Rum, Limited Edition with case
This rum is distinguished on the nose by its aroma of vanilla, which evolves into nuances of nuts, plums, and figs. On the palate, smoky notes of dried fruit and candied fruit are evident. All bottles in this edition are numbered and hand-bottled, and it has not been filtered in any way, thus preserving its full aromatic intensity.
Dry wines from the Jerez-Sherry-Manzanilla DO are made with the Palomino Fino grape variety. Oloroso wine is distinguished from others by its purely oxidative aging. In its aging process, greater contact between the product and the wood is sought, increasing the exchange of oxygen with the outside. The result is a wine with nuances of wood, spices, and dried fruit, which give it a special complexity, perfectly appreciated in our Arehucas Single Cask Oloroso Finish 2005.
The spirit used to produce this Arehucas Single Cask Oloroso Finish 2005 comes from aging for 18 years in five American white oak barrels in our historic cellars in Arucas. It has subsequently been aged for at least 12 months in Oloroso casks.
This rum stands out on the nose for its vanilla aroma, which evolves into hints of nuts, plums, and figs. On the palate, smoky notes of dried fruit and candied fruit are evident.
All the bottles in this edition are numbered and hand-bottled at our distillery. Furthermore, this rum has not been filtered in any way, allowing it to retain all its aromatic intensity.
AREHUCAS Distilleries, +130 Years of History:
On August 9, 1884, the San Pedro Factory was inaugurated in Arucas, Gran Canaria. Dedicated primarily to sugar production, and to a lesser extent to the production of sugarcane spirits and rum, it was the precursor to the current Arehucas Distilleries. The artisanal process for converting sugarcane juice into rum, combined with the use of modern machinery, led to the early success of "La Fábrica" (The Factory), as it was popularly known.
Suppliers to the Royal Household and Spanish Court: In 1885, the first harvest yielded 5,619,540 kg of sugarcane. The quality of its spirits earned it the Silver and Bronze Cup and the title of Suppliers to the Royal Household and Spanish Court, granted by Queen Regent Maria Cristina of Austria.
In 1892, just eight years after the distillery opened, the rum produced in Arucas was already highly regarded throughout the Canary Islands.
Today, Destilerías Arehucas is a century-old company with a long and distinguished history, one of the largest and oldest rum distilleries in Europe. Established as a prestigious brand based on the quality and history of its rums, it has become a benchmark for rum in Europe.
